A delegation from Funn, a Sharjah-based foundation dedicated to promoting media arts for and among children and youth in the U.A.E., recently visited the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan with a team from the UN World Food Programme, UNWFP, headed by Amal Dabbas, National Ambassador WFP, in support of a food distribution initiative for children and families. The Funn delegation, representing Sharjah International Children Film Festival, SICFF, comprising Maryam Al Mualla, Nouf Hashim and Fatima Musharbek, joined the Amman-based UNWFP team for two days to learn about the programme’s strategy for food distribution based on the increasing number of refugees in the camp over the past five years and to hand out gifts. Commenting on the visit, Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of SICFF and Funn, said, “We are proud to have partnered with the UNWFP for this vital food distribution initiative in Jordan.
